Love happens when you least expect it. I went to a Red Sox game, April 13 four years ago and met the love of my life. I didn’t know that he was the one at the time. All I knew was that he was blocking my view and the Red Sox vs. Yankees game was tied 2-2. I went up to him, stood on my tip toes and tapped him on the shoulder to tell him that he was blocking my view (he’s 6’7”.) I remember the first time I ever received flowers. It was Valentine’s Day 2009. The first thing I thought when I received the light pink roses in a pink vase was a quote from Jennifer Anniston in one of her movies: “Gary, every girl likes flowers!” Up until that day, I had spent the majority of my life saying I did not like flowers and I would never be able to be swept off my feet by a man giving me some. I never had the courage to say that I was afraid that no man would ever care enough to buy me flowers. Although this gesture may seem simple and insignificant, it is not.
