Free Boston Museum Tickets

Boston is a city known for its historical and educational endeavors, so it’s not surprising that there are a plethora of museums to visit while in Boston or to enjoy as a local. If you want to explore in wallet-friendly ways, check out these current museum admission deals for free or at a deep discount:

The Highland Street Foundation sponsors Free Fun Fridays where you can choose free admission to six different museums each Friday in the summer. This includes some of Boston’s most popular museums such as the Museum of Fine Arts, the JFK Library, and USS Constitution Museum, as well as museums throughout Massachusetts, including Plimouth Plantation, the Stone Zoo, and Fruitlands Museum. Free Fun Fridays ends August 30th, so take advantage while you can!

Every Friday throughout the entire year, Target sponsors Target $1 Friday Nights from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at the Boston Children’s Museum, which is celebrating its 100th year of operation! Kids will be entertained for hours by the 3-story climbing structure in the museum’s lobby! Check the website for the museum’s availability and schedule.

Additionally, every first Saturday and Sunday of the month, Bank of America sponsors Museums on Us. If you have a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch card, you can get in free to museums throughout the country. Some Massachusetts museums that participate are the Museum of Fine Arts, the MIT Museum, and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA).
