Look no further for February Staycation ideas!

While some families may be jetting off to warm, tropical locales or packing their parkas for a ski getaway up North, you may find your February vacation plans a bit more, shall we say…limited. Hopefully the Westin Copley Place has the solution for you and your children next week if your plans have landed you in Massachusetts.

The Westin Kids Club has a whole week of food, fun, and creativity to entertain the kids and parents alike.  Daily Kids Club activities include movie night with popcorn, family game night, crafts such as paintings ceramics, tie-dying T-shirts, and decorating photo frames, make your own ice cream sundaes, and cookie decorating. My favorite activity is a special “behind the scenes” tour of the Westin Copley Place’s kitchen with our Executive Chef. Do you know that the Westin Copley Place has the largest kitchen in the Northeast? It’s BIG!

All the above events are included free if you are staying at the Westin Copley Place during February School Vacation on the “Family Fun in February” staycation package. Starting at just $199/night, the package includes even more freebies for the family: free kid’s breakfast, free kid’s dinner entrees (Tues-Sat) at Turner Fisheries, milk and cookies sent to the room, free in room movie each day, free internet, and free parking. The package is available beginning tonight, February 15, 2013 and runs through Sunday February 24th.

You never even have to go outside to look for more ways to distract, err, I mean engage, the kids. The Westin Copley Place has an indoor pool. Attached via sky bridges to the Copley Place Mall and Prudential Center, there’s lots of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment indoors. Take the kids up to the 50th floor of the Prudential Center building to enjoy 360 degree views of Boston (great view of Fenway Park!) At the new Microsoft Store, kids can play Xbox 360 Kinect while parents check out the latest gadgets. If it’s warm enough to walk across Boylston Street, the Apple Store is equally as entertaining. If the kids are looking for a treat, there’s a Ben and Jerry’s, Pinkberry, and Cold Stone Creamery in The Shops at Prudential Center. But my favorite sweet snacks are the cookies at Paradise Bakery and Café!

The Westin Copley Place is so centrally located in Boston, there’s an endless supply of fun for the whole family. With the addition of the Westin Kids Club activities, I think it’s THE place to be for your February staycation. I hope we are able to be a part of your family’s memories this week!
