Turner Fisheries Seafood Recipe Challenge
This past Sunday, November 21, 2010, was the 1st Turner Fisheries Seafood Recipe Challenge cook-off and it was quite the event. The event was held in an industrial kitchen (absolutely mammoth) in The Westin Copley Place and yes, Turner Fisheries has its own kitchen along with a third kitchen at the hotel used for Bar10, in-room dining and The Huntington, just incredible.
New England Seafood Salad – Fiona Coxe (shown preparing her dish)
Cod w/ Onion Lemon Sauce – Israa Muezzin (shown preparing her dish)
Mussels w/ Chipotle Pesto – Dave Copeland (shown preparing his dish)
The event started at 11am and before long, the kitchen was bustling as contestants and assisting Turner Fisheries staff were busy cooking.
The judges for the cook-off were (L-R): Rich Auffrey, Jacqueline Church, Will McAdoo and Executive Sous Chef Chad Kennedy of Turner Fisheries.
Guests where able to taste all 3 amazing dishes as well.
The winning dish – Dave Copeland’s Mussels with Chipotle Pesto. Dave’s prize was an All-Clad stainless cookware set (Value $600) & his winning recipe will be featured on the Turner Fisheries menu for a limited time (details to come.)
Second place – Israa Muezzin’s Cod with Onion Lemon Sauce. Israa’s prize was a professional knife set (value $404).
3rd place – Fiona Coxe’s New England Seafood Salad. Fiona’s prize was a $100 gift certificate to Turner Fisheries.
